Donation Center and Sunshine Boutique Hours of Operation for February
In preparation for our 52nd Annual BBQ on February 26th the Donation Center Store and Sunshine Acres Boutique will be CLOSED February 15th-18th. Doors will re-open on February 22nd -26th.
52nd Annual Sunshine Acres Benefit Barbecue
Sunshine Acres Children’s Home Benefit Barbecue sponsored by the Mesa Optimist Club will be held on Sunday, February 26th, 2012 from 10:30am until 3:00pm. Please join us for a Smoke Pit BBQ, Two Hearts Horsemanship Program, Sunshine Acres Children’s Choir, AZ Banjo Band and Kid Zone. Adults tickets are $10.00 and Children are $5.00. For tickets pleae call 480-832-2540. All proceeds benefit our home.
More than a home…We’re Family!
Since 1954, Sunshine Acres has been home to more than 1600 children. Founded by Rev. Jim and Vera Dingman, this faith mission has two basic principles: We never solicit money, or a board, or a brick and No child will ever be turned away for financial reasons. Although our home is almost entirely funded by donations our focus is the quality care of the children and not fundraising. We do not solicit on our own behalf.
Our support is from many individuals, foundations, and corporations who reached out to say “I want to help”. Friends like Pat Hemmer, an Arizona resident, and Kurt Warner, former NFL quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals make this haven for children possible, and we are so grateful for each and every one! Most of all we are grateful for the many miracles God has done both great and small.
