Admission Process

Phone Interview

The applicant will be contacted by a Community Supervisor within 24 hours of initial contact. The community Supervisor will then conduct an initial interview and schedule an onsite visit if appropriate.

Onsite Visit

For the Onsite Visit with the Community Supervisor, the child and his/her parents/guardians are required to attend. The onsite visit will consist of:
- an introduction to Sunshine Acres and the services we offer.
- Inquiry (discussion) of family’s need for placement
- Tour of Sunshine Acres

Upon completion of onsite interview you will be provided with an Admissions Packet. Application may be mailed or faxed to Sunshine Acres.

Admissions Review

Once the Admission Packet is completed and returned, the Authorization to Exchange Information forms will be faxed to the appropriate agencies. When Sunshine Acres receives all pertinent information, the application will be reviewed to determine if Sunshine Acres is the appropriate placement facility for the child.

Admission

If the child is an appropriate candidate, we will contact you to schedule an admission date with your family. If placement is determined to be inappropriate at any time in the process, you will be contacted by the Community Supervisor and referred to a more appropriate placement possibility.
